Australian Great War Poetry

Important note for researchers:

Because of the nature of the research involved in the creation of the AGWP canon, new information will be added to this site from time to time. Such things as articles, poems and poets, will be added as information is gathered. This will apply particularly to poets. There are far too many poets in the AGWP canon to be included all in one go, so, as information in the canon develops, so too will the AGWP web-site.

This site is all about Australian Great War Poetry, and its primary purpose is for education. A secondary purpose is to provide a central on-line data-base for the canon of AGWP (Australian Great War Poetry) for researchers and students. The site includes various topics and articles related exclusively to AGWP, and these may aid further research for those studying the Australian poetic contribution to the Great War.

The website is also linked to social media pages, which are set up as working stations for AGWP. The facebook page offers more regular updates and discussions, whereas the AGWP blog page is a collation of on-line biographies, which have been written by various authors. In time, samples of poetry will be added to the blog site and linked to this web-page.

There is also a contact page on this site which is hoped to facilitate those with questions, but also those who want to share information about Australian Great War poetry. If you have access to poems or poets who fit the criteria for AGWP, then please contact us. But please remember that this site is exclusively about Australian Great War poetry.
